Abandoned Villa Old Town Phuket

So another in my Urban exploration series, this time the abandoned Villa, in Old Town Phuket.

Built around 100 years ago this sadly empty and decaying building is left. Surrounded by some out buildings and what would have been servants quarters.

The building is securely padlocked at all entrances to the ground floor, I suspect that as much of the main roof section has gone the upper floors maybe rotten beyond repair and very dangerous!

Windows are closed and I managed to push one open a little to get a peek inside. Tantalising glimpses of what was before.

You can get around to the side and the rear of this building, the back, backs onto a water culvert so not practical to enter through there either. Judging by the undergrowth, i wouldn't want to bet on the local friendly snakes either.

So instead I just looked at what I could and wishing I could restore it to what it used to be.

On a prime piece f land in the center of the Old Town in Phuket, it looks like there will be a long wait before that if ever comes up for sale!

Peaceful Moments from Karon Beach – Phuket

So as part of my ongoing self managing therapy, I photograph, a lot, and I have a lot of images from that. Some i make into what I hope are useful , “this is a nice place to visit and this is what you will see” slideshows on YouTube.

Then there are these, peaceful moments which I post for people who like me have worked out that we all need 5 minutes of the day just to stop and think of nothing else in this world, but to stop! and give our minds just a break at least once a day from all the things that push us too hard, Life! I weave them into these peaceful moments using images and appropriate music to help the mind switch off from the rest of the World.

I hope you find them as helpful as I do…. and the added bonus you see some beautiful places of where I have been.

Fruits De Mer- In Chalong- Phuket

On of the things about living on an Island is that your diet options expand to fresh fish!

I finally got to visiting one of my local food/morning markets and what a treat, not only the usual fruit/veg/meat but a fabulous array of shellfish and fish. Fresh from the mornings fisherman.

There are a few of these in Phuket, this is not a tourist market but a real working market for local people in Chalong.

A great place to see what there is .....and great some photography in too!

Friendship Beach street Art Gallery (Graffiti)

You know sometimes Street Art appears in places you least expect it! Like this building on Friendship Beach near Rawai, in Phuket. Or maybe not, maybe its the perfect location for artists to express their feelings of being there.

Either way I have here a collection of very talented artists, and where at all possible i have credited their work. I do a lot of research but as with all of this kind of visual art it is not always possible to find out everything about the piece or the artists.

A large part of this collection is from the local Artist Amann based here in Phuket. I find a fair few pieces of his work spread around the Phuket Area.
